Package: devscripts Version: 2.10.9 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hello,
I've just stumbled upon bug #446298, and it appears that debuild is advising to run /usr/lib/pbuilder/pbuilder-satisfydepends as root: If you have the pbuilder package installed you can run /usr/lib/pbuilder/pbuilder-satisfydepends as root to install the required packages, or you can do it manually using dpkg or apt using the error messages just above this message. This is very dangerous ! The results can be disastrous ! That bit of advice should be removed. /usr/lib/pbuilder/pbuilder-satisfydepends is a /usr/lib script, and as such can change its behavior without notice and need not be documented. Don't mention it. Don't rely on it.
