Why not include the emacs-22 directory in the INFOPATH list?
Because then I will just have the same problem again when Emacs 23 comes out, or when I use some other program that installs info files in a subdirectory of /usr/share/info and I want to read them in the Emacs info reader. With man I can extend the system man path.
But if you have multiple Emacs versions installed, it will pick up a random one, though the file names are included in the dir entry: * Emacs FAQ: (emacs-21/efaq). Frequently Asked Questions about Emacs. * Emacs FAQ: (emacs-22/efaq). Frequently Asked Questions about Emacs. If I choose the first entry, info still displays the FAQ for emacs22.
