Hello Ludovic, Thanks for your quick reaction.

For most daemons there are no messages printed from the program itself at all. The only messages printed during boot are printed by the init.d scripts. The message "Starting PCSC Lite resource manager: pcscd." is good. I very much doubt that normal users are interested in what debug level is set, but if there is a good reason to print it, it should be something like "pcscd: debug level set to 'error'". The two messages on shutdown are only noise: if these "errors" are normal on shutdown of the daemon, they should _not_ be printed. Errors should only be printed if a "real" (i.e. unexpected) error occurs. On shutdown only something like "Stopping PCSC Lite resource manager: pcscd." should be enough. If you want other opinions on this, I suggest you ask on the debian-devel mail list. Cheers, FJP -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
