Package: libpurple-dev
Version: 2.2.0-1
Severity: wishlist

It would be very useful for new developers to simply add some examples
to /usr/share/doc/libpurple-dev
A quick inspection of libpurple's doxygen generated documentation:
  http://freesys.cn/libpurple/html/files.html
found with Google reveals that there are some examples such as
 * example/ (including nullclient.c)
 * purple-client-example.c
