I've joust found it:
/usr/share/doc/exim4-base/README.Debian.gz explains the UUCP setup in
section 2.8:
2. Configuration of Exim 4 in the Debian packages
2.8. Putting Exim 4 and UUCP together
So the pointer in the uucp package needs to be updated.
