Package: postgresql-8.3 Version: 8.3~beta2 Severity: normal PostgreSQL 8.3 contains support for a UUID data type <URL:http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.3/static/datatype-uuid.html>. This is only enabled with the '--with-ossp-uuid' option to the 'configure' script, which is not enabled by default.
The Debian package of postgresql (8.3~beta2) currently does not enable this option, so the documented UUID features in the server and the contrib package will not be enabled. -- \ "Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
