What is the point of the label= attribute in the XML file, then?
Or the Appearance/Menu Item setting in ObConf?

I am not saying this is terribly important, but it really is a bug.

label= specifies the label of the entry, just as for any other item. The label is only shown in a menu though, so you'll only see it for submenus, not for the toplevel menu.
