Package: unrar-free Version: 1:0.0.1+cvs20070515-1 Severity: wishlist Unrar-free does not know how to list or extract the contents of self-extracting Rar archives. It turns out it's very easy to handle because all you have to do is to remove the SFX header, which can be done by searching for the magic "Rar!" string which begins the actual archive.
See http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/emacs/lisp/arc-mode.el?revision=1.84&root=emacs&view=markup for sample Elisp code that strips the SFX header and passes the result to unrar-free so as to provide support for self-extracting archives. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686-bigmem (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages unrar-free depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries unrar-free recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
