Package: git-gui Version: 1:1.5.3.7-1 Severity: normal When starting git-gui for the first time, it warns that "/usr/bin/git claims it is verstion 'debian.1.5.3.7.1-dirty'. gui-gui requires at least Git 1.5.0 or later" and then asks if it should assume that the version is correct.
I propose that this check is removed from git-gui in the debian package (as the dependencies should already make sure that the correct version of git is installed), or that the check is at least adjusted to detect the Debian package of git. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23.8 (SMP w/1 CPU core; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages git-gui depends on: ii git-core 1:1.5.3.7-1 fast, scalable, distributed revisi ii tk8.4 8.4.16-2 Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - Versions of packages git-gui recommends: ii git-doc 1:1.5.3.7-1 fast, scalable, distributed revisi ii gitk 1:1.5.3.7-1 fast, scalable, distributed revisi -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
