Did that.   Roberto has said they may drop ... for script arguments for 5.2.
That would solve the problem nicely.

Lua standalone *already* supports an arg table.  It also supports the
standard argument-passing mechanism through the ... syntax.
With the arg table already available and widely used, I suspect this
is why the Lua team is willing to consider letting that be the only
mechanism.
