This is a problem of the GCJ installation on the system. in Etch libgcj7-awt is recommended by gij which is not very likely to be installed by the local admin as we tell users to install java-gcj-compat. In Sid/unstable we solve this by letting java-gcj-compat recommend libgcj8-1-awt. As we depend on users installing recommendations that is no problem. This is *no* problem of freeguide. Its discussable if we should add a recommends on libgcj7-awt to java-gcj-compat in stable. But thats a decision to be made by the stable release managers.
