Could you please submit this through the Translation Project (translationproject.org)? They tend to get a bit annoyed when I accept external translations ... There's also a 2.5.1-pre1 out for translation at the moment. Using the TP will mean you get advance notice of changes before upstream releases, which should make it easier for you to keep up, and make it more likely that the version in Debian will have an up-to-date translation.
