I recently blogged [1] about it and the -gcj packages with native code,
that will speed up the build, are currently prepared (libsaxon-java-gcj
is in NEW and docbook-xsl-saxon is one of my own packages ... so I'm
just waiting for a response from the libxml-commons-resolver1.1-java
maintainers).

The other solution would be to use the non-free Sun Java or waiting for
IcedTea, which is not yet packaged.

Will check this too.
