yeah, good reminder to push scsi_wait.

so what can we do in the cryptsetup package? is this a bug in
cryptsetup at all, or may i close this bugreport?

Kernel changes are needed. Kernel devs are aware changes are needed. Theoretically the bug could be reassigned to the Debian kernel packages, but I doubt that would be very helpful. So I suggest the BR be closed.
