This is in continuation of the earlier messages. I have not seen any
changes in the behaviour of the kernel images including the latest
2.6.24-rc7. Just today I downloaded the vanilla version of the 2.6.24
(which was released today) and compile the same. When I connect my ipod,
I cannot mount it and I get the same error I was getting earlier.

Incidentally as noted earlier, I can mount my pen drive of 1 GB capacity. But,
I was not able to mount an external hard disk.
