Is that the entire output? So far as I can see, the warning that's
waiting for you to press RETURN is related to the distribution, not the
version number.

the current version number (2.10.14).

Using -D testing displays the version number warning but continues to
make the requested change. Indeed, the function of -b is to stop the
version warning message being sufficient to raise the "Did you see that
warning?" prompt.
