Hello Ian, thanks for your response. I now feel much better informed.

I did check the dependencies, and found no indication about a specific versioned dependency on haskell-x11. But you are right, haskell-hgl needs to be recompiled to be installable (or even uninstallable) with the new haskell-x11. Shouldn’t the dependency be versioned, based on the data Cabal generated in /usr/lib/libghc6-hgl-dev/register.sh? But I guess that is a haskell-utils issue. After a simple recompilation, the package works (tested with the example file from http://darcs.haskell.org/packages/HGL/examples/). Do you want me to upload an NMU of libhgc6-hgl-dev as well, put in the same delayed spot as haskell-x11? Should I then manually tighten the dependency on haskell-x11, or is there a good reason to leave this dependency this loose? > I know that, due to other things going on in my life recently, I haven't > been able to spend as much time as I'd like on Debian packaging; > however, by doing random uploads, seemingly without considering all the > consequences, you are just making it harder for me to make sure that > everything gets done and everything works. If there is anything I can do to help, I can try to ease some of the work for you. Please understand that waiting without any indication of progress or open issues is not nice.
