John, as I know you're a pretty active developer, I prefer sending this small notice before any other action. Could you think about fixing the changelog encoding issue described in this bug report (and a few others) for vcs-load-dirs binary package?
I could of course upload a NMU as I'm currently doing for several other packages (UTF-8 encoded changelog files is a lenny release goal) but prior warning seems to be fair to you (and, well, you're one of my favourite bloggers!). --
