I usually just install the binary packages, not the source -- so I don't
know what file has the package description.

Description: display network usage in top-like format

ntop is a Network Top program. It displays a summary of network
usage by machines on your network in a format reminiscent of the
     unix top utility.

Here's an attempt at revision, if not a patch:

Description: display network traffic using a web browser

ntop monitors local network traffic and displays connection
statistics in tabular formats reminiscent of the unix top
utility, it also features menus, pie charts, bar graphs,
plug-ins, and more. ntop uses an internal http server for
output; connect with any JavaScript enabled graphical
web browser, (e.g. galeon, iceweasel, etc.).

Note: I put "using a web browser", which sounds awkward, instead of
"in a web browser" as the latter might imply traffic only "in" the
browser. Perhaps there's a better way to phrase it...

HTH...
