Lack of UTF-8 support never bothered me, precisely because earlier versions of Zile didn't complain if a character wasn't printable. So, even if I couldn't read UTF-8 with Zile, I could type it. I think it's a very bad idea to disallow typing non-printable characters _before_ UTF-8 support has been implemented. It breaks a valid use case! I hope you reconsider. I find Zile a very good editor, and it'd be a pity I had to avoid it whenever I have to write in my native language (Catalan). -- Robert Millan <GPLv2> I know my rights; I want my phone call! <DRM> What use is a phone call… if you are unable to speak?
