Package: mplayer
Version: 1.0~rc2-7+lenny1
Severity: minor

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello,

The current version of mplayer from Debian doesn't have its polypaudio/pulseaudio AO support enabled. This is ok now since polypaudio was renamed to pulseaudio and bears that name in Debian Sid and Debian Lenny for a while.

The next release of mplayer 1.0~rc3 will have its polypaudio/pulseaudio option corrected to be pulseaudio. This is the current and stable name.

On systems with pulseaudio, the playing can currently be done via the alsa plugin, but the native protocol is said to be better.

Please enable the pulseaudio AO option in the next release.
