Package: klogd
Version: 1.4.1-16
Severity: normal

5314 root 25 0 2452 1412 440 R 99.4 0.3 8:51 /sbin/klogd
all over a sudden, /sbin/klogd hogs the cpu. This happens both with kernel
2.6.12-rc4 and 2.6.12-rc3-mm3.

Another effect: dmesg returns absolutely no output:
kasbah:~# dmesg
kasbah:~# echo $?
0

% strace -p 5314
returns:
read(0, "", 4095) = 0
read(0, "", 4095) = 0
read(0, "", 4095) = 0
