I agree with the bug reporter, then. A package of the importance of shadow should desserve a test suite which would prevent the package building when something's going wrong. Even if it's called "unstable", the day I won't be able to log onto my machine for one whole day, I'll get *mad*. I'm not sure that build-depending'ing on ltp is a good idea, but the goal is noble. I would not close the bug report.
