With gcc/g++ 4.3 the generated code does not segfault indeed.
The version of g{cc,++}-4.3 I've used is 4.3.0~rc2-1.

The gtkmathview package however does not build out of the bug with gcc
of the 4.3 family, it needs some of the usual hacking for missing
includes. The upstream author has been notified about the needed changes
which will be included in the next release.

What should I do next then? The situation is that gtkmathview builds
with with gcc 4.1 and 4.3, but not with 4.2. Would it be fine to
build-depend on gcc-4.3 to solve the issue? I would say "no", because
even 4.3 is currently the non-standard gcc/g++, but I would be happy to
be proven wrong.

Let me know.
Cheers.
