Package: vde2 Version: 2.2.0-pre2-1 Severity: normal I installed kvm, which required this package, and then I actually uninstalled it. However, this is the message that I receive when I attempt to remove (and purge) vde2. (with a few lines removed)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get --purge remove vde2 The following packages will be REMOVED: vde2* 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Do you want to continue [Y/n]? Removing vde2 ... Purging configuration files for vde2 ... WARNING: You are just about to delete the root account (uid 0) Usually this is never required as it may render the whole system unusable Press immediately Ctrl+C if you want to abort Ok, you really want it, I'll delete that account The fact that it says that it's removing the root account, which it doesn't, and that it only gives about 1 second to hit ctrl+c seems to be a horrible setup. Please document what you're actually removing (if I need to know that), don't say that you're removing root, and if you actually want to give the user a chance to stop the uninstall, please use something that actually waits for a response. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-vserver-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages vde2 depends on: ii adduser 3.106 add and remove users and groups ii libc6 2.7-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libpcap0.8 0.9.8-2 System interface for user-level pa ii libvdemgmt0 2.2.0-pre2-1 Virtual Distributed Ethernet - Man ii libvdeplug2 2.2.0-pre2-1 Virtual Distributed Ethernet - Plu Versions of packages vde2 recommends: ii daemon 0.6.3-1 turns other processes into daemons -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
