[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo update-inetd --debug --verbose --remove
'.*/usr/sbin/bitlbee'
Processing /etc/inetd.conf
Using mode "remove", group "OTHER", pattern "" and seperator "#<off># "
ARGUMENT: .*/usr/sbin/bitlbee
Removing line: `6667 stream tcp nowait bitlbee /usr/sbin/tcpd
/usr/sbin/bitlbee'

Same thing on my testing box:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/src/bitlbee/pkg/bitlbee-1.2$ sudo update-inetd --debug
--verbose --remove '.*/usr/sbin/bitlbee'
Processing /etc/inetd.conf
Using mode "remove", group "OTHER", pattern "" and seperator "#<off># "
ARGUMENT: .*/usr/sbin/bitlbee

It's extremely annoying that the command suddenly changed behaviour,
even though the regex-syntax was, AFAIK, documented and is still widely
used.

Since my package allows the user to change the port number used for the
service, I now have no way to use update-inetd to remove/update the
entry, without still knowing this port number.
