well, my rationale is easy enough. I'm entirely agreed that your definition sounds logical to you, but as long as the average user cannot run "ohphone -v" and then receive an informational message about missing plugins, I do not want to face the new bugs telling "video does not work". I'll see what upstream tells about this, yet I think we'll live with these few 132kB installed (size of v4l.so). Having a virtual package in the Packages file will also waste precious disk space (in /var/lib/apt/lists) and the default minimum usecase is to run ohphone with audio, but with video right at hand. The same default has been rolled out with GnomeMeeting for years and has never been an issue. -- Best regards, Kilian
