First of all, I realize this might be a big thing to implement, and I don't expect anything soon. I expect my request considered, but not necessarily dealt with any time soon (although I wouldn't mind :-). Anyway, my system isn't the fastest in the world. Some hacks (like xanalogtv) that do full-screen animations have a frame-rate that make them look not-so-good. I'd like to be able to make a global setting saying what the lowest frame rate I'm prepared to accept is. If a screen saver cannot keep up, it should either attempt to catch up (by lowering complexity, resolution or whatever) or if that's not possible, yield to the next screen saver. The situation where all hacks are just skipped for this reason needs to be prevented.
