1) Booting a system with a disk, but without an initramfs works, so why should a system with an initramfs, but without a disk not work? 2) As I did not really expect it to work, the severity is minor. Should I have been using wishlist? 3) As pointed out in my first mail the problem can be easily worked around in udev, so why should we not support this case?
