Fertig After those error messages the mm-applet shows that the network now is disconnected and it won't reconnect unless I purge the installation of the open-vm-tools package. The "closed sourced" VMware Tools currently provided by VMware Fusion 1.1.1 (72241) work as expected so there is a workaround for this problem. According to a dpkg --status open-vm-tools the open-vm-tools depend on the following packages: Depends: libatk1.0-0 (>= 1.20.0), libc6 (>= 2.7-1), libcairo2 (>= 1.4.0), libfontconfig1 (>= 2.4.0), libfreetype6 (>= 2.3.5), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0), libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.18.4), libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.13-4), libx11-6, libxext6, libxinerama1, libxrandr2 (>= 2:1.2.0), libxrender1, libxtst6, zlib1g I'm running Debian Lenny with a 2.6.22-3-686 Kernel ls -l /lib/libc.so.6 gives me lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 26. Mär 22:24 /lib/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.7.so I downloaded a debian lenny beta1 installer networkinstall cd and installed Debian Lenny via this CD in a VMware Fusion 1.1.1 (72241) running under Mac OS X 10.5.2 on a Mac Mini with Intel Prozessor. Since I'm quite new to Debian please excuse if I made mistakes or forgot important details in my first bug report.
