Sure, the crash is a bug regardless of the reason. LyX probably passes the filename in the wrong encoding to boost::filesystem. Arnaud, please file the problem upstream at http://bugzilla.lyx.org (a link to the debian bug should be enough). Did you give the file name on the command line? Then it could also be that LyX does not interpret the encoding of the command line correctly. Georg
