To upgrade from the legacy aspell and have support for languages not supportable by aspell or any specific spelling library (like hunspell). Hunspell is currently the successor to ispell/aspell/myspell, and Enchant supports also other libraries like Voikko for Finnish. Needs also changed dependencies, eg. add libenchant-dev to Build-Depends. The patch is already applied in eg. Fedora 9.
