indeed. it has been quite some time ago, since sarge perhaps, but i actually wrote that check because debian-cd returned no error codes. so a first step would be evaluating if this is still the case, and if not, patching debian-cd to provide useful error codes or other feedback that is useable to detect sucess or failure of debian-cd. live well, vagrant
