Hello!

To sum up, this issue is because of an old workaround inside the kernel which
Pierre Yanard has found and submitted a patch to disable. Upstream linux
networking maintainers have rejected it, debian kernel maintainers don't want
to deviate from upstream, and there's not much we can do to solve the problem.

The main reason I haven't tagged this "wontfix" is because I think we could
probably add code in iproute2 to detect this situation and spit out a
warning, so it's clearly visible for anyone running into this.

It's not high on my priority list, so a patch from anyone willing to work ond
this would be warmly welcome. :)
