Thanks for the critique.

copyright-check.mk being fragile is a known issue, with a pending fix in 
the form of a reimplementation of that cdbs snippet.

I would appreciate if you could elaborate on other things your found 
problematic about my cdbs setup - I might learn something here :-)

I would also appreciate if you could find time to look at that new 
copyright-check.mk routine.

Ahh - then you could've just applied your patch directly through SVN.  
Why didn't you - especially now after I shoed positive interest in your 
work?  I deliberately placed it in collab-maint in order to make it easy 
for others to help out, and also myself to the LowThresholdNMU list at 
the Debian wiki. If you feel I could do more to promote my interest in 
random direct help, please tell me!
