Indeed, it helps. Still it wouldn't hurt to mention this fact in the manpage to xsetroot. It is not obvious that the tools works like an application which attaches to and detaches from the X server. And since this is the desired behaviour, the openbox startup script can never work when using startx, so the bug should be reassigned/diverted to openbox. Josef
