I think you're right, it should be changed only when rsyslogd becomes the
default in Debian.

Until then, you may want to add a note in a new README.Debian since grepping
for "rsyslog" in both README and laptop-mode.txt doesn't return anything.
It might help reduce the number of new "please add support for rsyslog" bug
reports :)

I've actually decided to do a better job. :-) I've built a new "config file control" module, which can handle multiple config files at the same time, and which can signal multiple daemons after switching the config file. The defaults handle syslog, syslog-ng and rsyslog. It will be in the next upstream release, which will hopefully be released today.
