I'm unable to reproduce this with a locale set to fr_FR.UTF-8. However, meld crashes on 2 empty directories when run with a locale set to [EMAIL PROTECTED] A quick workaround is to run meld through a wrapper which sets the locale to fr_FR.UTF-8.
