Hi Forest & Daniel,

the script uses --oknodo in the "stop" section of the script. Did you
try to first run something like

  /etc/init.d/atop stop

to make start-stop-daemon clean its lockfiles etc. and afterwards

  /etc/init.d/atop start

This should work. I'm not sure wether it is a good idea to use --oknodo
also in the start section (on my system only very few packages do this)
as it would hide any problems.
