I tested the svn (709) version, and the problem is still present.
Here is the test run. Notice how no entry was returned first, and
then it work again. The slxtest4 user do not exist. The rest
(slxtest1, slxtest2, slxtest3) exists.

labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest1
slxtest1:*:10000:10000:Skolelinux
Test1:/skole/tjener/home0/ad/slxtest1:/bin/bash
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest2
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest3
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest4
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest1
slxtest1:*:10000:10000:Skolelinux
Test1:/skole/tjener/home0/ad/slxtest1:/bin/bash
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest2
slxtest2:*:10001:10001:Skolelinux Test
2:/skole/tjener/home0/adusers/slxtest2:/bin/bash
labslx01:/# getent passwd slxtest3
slxtest3:*:10003:10003:Skolelinux Test 3::/bin/bash
labslx01:/#

Happy hacking,
