According to upstream bug (http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3775) gtk behavior has changed, so now all plugin writers need to update their code. Could you clone/reassign (wishlist) bug to needing package (including xfce4-panel for plugins needing it) and provide patches?
