Package: lsb-base Version: 3.2-12 Severity: wishlist Hi,
please implement a way to pass a user-specified value for the --retry option in the start-stop-daemon call in killproc. There is a number of daemons that are not going to die in the five seconds that are hardcoded in killproc (With nagios and torrus, I am involved in maintenance of two of them, squid being a third one I know of), and it would be great to have appropriate code in killproc to handle these cases. Handling this in a number of init scripts is error-prone and duplicates code. As an alternative, it would be good to have a (admittedly non-standard) function that signals the daemon and waits for it to die while printing dots.
