I agree. Please drop the dependency on php5. Depending on php5-cli is enough. Depending on php5 means installing libapache2-mod-php5 (or php5-cgi) which in turn depends on Apache2. This should not be necessary for phpunit. On my machine I have installed php5-cli and php-pear, then installed phpunit through pear as described on http://www.phpunit.de/pocket_guide/3.2/en/installation.html and it works fine.
