Package: doc-debian
Version: 3.1
Severity: normal

the most frequent question I see about debian is always "why does
stable not upgrade packages?" It seems to me that very few people
outside of debian development actually understand debian's use of the
word "stable," and so expect that it will see updates after some sort
of testing. Given the length of time between releases, I think it
would be useful to explain what sorts of updates stable will and will
not see in the FAQ so that users can easily be pointed to this when
they ask about the lack of updates.
