Good point. The replaces line was introduced in tar 1.13.25-1 in Nov
2001 because we decided to have the tar package provide 'rmt' instead of
cpio. I'm not sure why it wasn't versioned, as the changelog entry
implies that was my intent. [shrug]

Reviewing the cpio changelog, it appears that 2.4.2-39 was the version
that eliminated rmt from the package as part of this transition. I've
therefore changed the control file in my revision control system for the
next upload to read:

        Replaces: cpio (<< 2.4.2-39)

Frankly, this all happened long enough ago that we could probably drop
this relation entirely and have it be ok, but it's not expensive to
carry around a corrected version a while longer.

Thanks for pointing this out.
