I have the same problem.

mozilla is started. I start firefox and it complains about XDM authorization key and refuses to start.

I close mozilla. The same happens when I restart firefox.

I had to launch and close mozilla. Then I got a different
error when starting firefox again. And the next try again
after that, it works.
(The xhost workaround is probably quicker.)

Even if I close mozilla, I have the same error:
------
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: XDM authorization key matches an existing client!

(firefox-bin:12320): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
---------

This is the first time (or maybe I have started it also a few months ago?) I have launched firefox under my user. Under another user it works correctly.
