Hello Julien, thanks for pointing me to the new libsane. I tried it today on the problematic HP5300C scanner. Unfortunately, my problem is not solved by this update. lsusb, sane-find-scanner, and scanimage -L give correct responses. scanimage > out.pnm segfaults.
