The next psutils upload includes a patch that removes bounding box and document media information from psnup and psresize output entirely. Although it doesn't actually implement your suggestion of recalculating them, it should fix the problem -- having no information in the file is better than having incorrect information and will still enable the documents to print properly with any correct PostScript implementation, even if the document structuring comments don't have the page size information.
