Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Severity: important Version: 2:2.3.1-1 Once GDM presents its login screen and I enter my username/password, pressing enter causes X to restart about half a second after the login starts. Then, the GDM login screen is presented again, and logging in succeeds without problems.
Attached is the diff between the Xorg.0.log.old and Xorg.0.log. The old one is from the session that seems to crash and the other one from the succeeded one. According with the differences, I'm guessing this problem is in the driver. Also, this started happening *around* the time the driver was upgraded to 2:2.3.1-1, though I'm not completely sure about the date (sorry for not having paid enough attention to this at that time).
