Package: aptitude Version: 0.4.11.4-1 On the command line, I can no longer remove a package but keep one of the auto-installed dependencies. I could swear that I used to be able to do this:
aptitude purge mpd libshout3+ But now I get this: root /home/telemachus # aptitude remove mpd libshout3+ Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Reading extended state information Initializing package states... Done Reading task descriptions... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: libavahi-client3{u} libavahi-common-data{u} libavahi-common3{u} libfaad0{u} libmikmod2{u} libsamplerate0{u} libshout3{u} mpd 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 8 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Need to get 0B of archives. After unpacking 3097kB will be freed. Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?] n Abort. I've tried with a few other packages, and it doesn't work as well. It works fine in the tui version, so maybe I'm crazy and you could never do this via the command line. If you can't do this, please file this as a wishlist bug. :) Debian GNU/Linux - Lenny/Sid (only Testing sources); linux-image-2.6.24-telemachus; libc6 2.7-10 Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
